It all started with the founder, Sahar who is an extensive traveller with an eye for quality and handmade products. She loved bringing back special items from her travels and sharing them with her friends and family. Even as a child, she was known to spend hours wrapping presents for others.

But she quickly realized that there was a problem with the way people gifted each other: it was always the same old thing! Gift hampers were generic, impersonal and boring.

So she decided to do something about it by starting her own business: Sophistik. She wanted to create unique gift hampers that reflected the interests of their recipients, from home-based suppliers, mainly women-owned small businesses.
